Kick! Punch! It's all in the Mind!

Can you believe I'm already at 35 weeks?!  The other day I was sitting at work and captured Baby Choi going nuts.  If you watch closely at the very beginning and towards the end you'll see the biggest movement (specifically 0:01, 0:11 and 0:20 seconds).  I shot the video looking down at my stomach.  Excuse the leopard  print.

Feeling the baby move is comforting.  I know he/she is healthy and active.  I'm going to miss being preggo!

Crib Sheets

If I knew for sure we were having a girl, I'd choose this set...

If I knew for sure we were having a boy, I'd choose this set...

After weeks of scouring the internet for the perfect neutral set, I decided on the Hippos.  LOVE THE HIPPOS!

Delivery Fears

According to a poll in American Baby, reader's said that aside from pain their biggest labor fear was...

63% said having a bowl movement on the delivery table
24% said they feared their husbands would never look at them the same again
13% said having the baby on the way to the hospital

My top three fears (in order)...

1. Pooping on the delivery table
2. Having an episiotomy
3. Having a 10 pound baby with a huge head

I can't believe we're already at 32 weeks!  I asked David to take a picture so I could post it on the blog.  Here are the types of pictures you have to look forward to once the baby is born...blurry, off centered and bad lighting.  Thanks DJ!

Huge at 32 Weeks!

CPR Certified!

On Monday, David and I completed our CPR certification class.  YEEHAW!  Let's hope we'll never have to use what we learned but I suppose you can never be too safe.  We paid $75 to take the class but I'll give you a lesson for free!!

Just remember the acronym C-A-B!
…C is for Compression
…A is for Airway
…B is for Breathing

For infant CPR:

1.)    Begin by placing two fingers in between and just below the nipple line.
2.)    Do 30 compressions about 1.5 inches deep as fast as you can count.
3.)    Take a deep breath and begin doing 30 compressions again.
4.)    Continue this cycle for 2 minutes.

According to new CPR standards, CPR breaths are optional, but recommended for infants.  So if you decide to do the "A" and "B" parts of C-A-B, follow the instructions below:

1.)    Begin by placing two fingers in between and just below the nipple line.
2.)    Do 30 compressions about 1.5 inches deep as fast as you can count.
3.)    Open the infant's airway by placing a finger on the forehead and pushing down.
4.)    Place your mouth over the infant's entire nose and mouth to create a seal.
5.)    Blow 2 short breaths (equivalent to the "poo" in "Winnie the Poo").
6.)    Continue this cycle for 2 minutes.

For adults, you follow the same procedure, except you would place the palm of your hand (with interlaced fingers) at the nipple line (instead of below), you would do compressions 2 inches deep (instead of 1.5 inches) and to open the airway you would lift at the chin (instead of the forehead).

Just remember, you cannot injure or kill a dead person.  A person needing CPR is clinically dead and they cannot get worse!  When you perform CPR you are simply pushing blood to their brain and other vital organs with your compressions and supplying that blood with oxygen when you breathe into them.
